Hello all,

First thing first - I think it is important to recognize that tomorrow is Martin Luther King’s Day.  Some people viewed this as just a reason for a long weekend, but I think we all should take some time tomorrow to reflect on civil rights movement.  Black Lives Matter period.  I am a white person, so I am well aware of my privilege as a white person.  I am well aware that I benefit from a racist system that is designed as intend to put white people above others.  This is unacceptable.  We all must do the work to take apart this system.  It will take a very long time, probably beyond my life time, but we still must do the work.  What that means will be different for everyone.  I just want to make it clear that I do NOT condone any form or racism along with other “isms” and I will do what I can to educate myself and support the Black community with my votes, my privilege, and my money.  If you are a white person like myself, then I expect you to actively work on being an antiracist.  Feel free to message if you need resources.  If you have any problem with this, then don’t bother messaging me.

My review on In the Light of a Setting Sun by Sivad’s Sanctum is posted on YouTube! It’s currently unlisted and available only to the readers.  I will make this public on Tuesday for everyone else.  Enjoy!

SESSIONS OF THE WEEK

Unfortunately, I only got to run one session this time.  Schedule conflicts and real life stuff happened in some of my groups, so I’ll make this one a longer session report for Lowlife one shot I ran.  Lowlife is a old school style supplemental zine, created by Sam Sorenson, that is all about caving, climbing, and tunneling.

We played the adventure pamphlet that I got along with the zine.  The title of the pamphlet is Beneath Harlowe House.  It’s a wonderful haunted house with a really weird dungeon connected through the basement.  The group spent a lot of time exploring the first level of the dungeon and finally made their first caving through the broken barrel in a cellar room.  Things quickly got weird after they get to the next level and eventually they found the source.  I will not share details to avoid spoilers for some of you who might want to play this in future.  However, I can share that the players were surprised by some of encounters they faced during this session.  Surprised in a good way! They felt like the plot twist was well done.  From my perspective, the details being provided made this easy to make a plot twist on the spot.

WRAPPING UP

That’s all from me.  I know this issue is little short, but I’ve got some major stuff coming up in preparation for Zine Month!  I’ll have so many amazing projects to cover, so keep an eye out for that!

Cheers,
