Hi all,

Sorry this issue is a day late.  I was feeling unwell (not COVID) yesterday and did not have enough energy to finalize this issue on time.  This is  an unexpected opportunity to test out using Monday as a release day and see how that goes compared to Sunday.   Gotta look at bright side of the situation right?

Anyway, I have a neat RPG review video below and Zine Month hype at the end, so please at least read that section!

GRASPING NETTLES REVIEW

Grasping Nettles Review Video

Here is a review video on Adam Bell’s Grasping Nettles!  Check it out to learn what are my thoughts on the game.  TLDR: It’s super neat worldbuilding game! Seriously, check it out for my more in-depth thoughts on the game.  If you want to check out Adam Bell’s works then give his Itch a look.

WEEKLY HAUL REPORT

Tooth and Claw by Shanice Fagan: a neat fantasy creatures guide being written as if a zoologist wrote their observations in a journal.  The artwork is gorgeous and this can be an inspiration for coming up with new creature.

Koala Tools’ Mini Notebooks and Pads: I decided to grab some mini iso grid and dot grid notebooks plus mini iso grid pads.  I’ve always wanted to invest some energy in drawing dungeon maps, so I figure this would be a good place to start.

Apothecaria by Anna Blackwell: a solo potion making RPG where you play as a witch responsible for making potions to help the villagers.  I’m a huge fan of Anna Blackwell’s previous works, so I can’t wait to try out this game!

I also received several review copies, but will not share here as I’m saving those for next issue!

WEEKLY SESSION REPORT

Blood and Dust (Spire): The group came back from month long holiday break to resume our campaign and it started oh so well! I lost count, but probably at least 4-5 straight failed rolls!  What is even more incredible is that one of them managed to be let go after being arrested by using a NPC they have a bond with to convince the knights.  They eventually achieved their first mission of finding a key person of interest and bring to their handler, Xavier.  Now, they are tasked with new objective where they must find out who is the person giving order to the current head of a rival rebellious cult.  This should be fun to see what they will do!

ZINE MONTH INCOMING!

zinemonth-logo

Zine Month will start in…. ONE WEEK!  I’m so excited about this initiative and this is going to be amazing for so many incredible indie TTRPG creators! Please have a look at the website and see how many projects are either already launched or plan to launch in February!

Zine Month Projects

Next issue will be ALL about Zine Month and I’ll have a video highlighting some of the projects.  I WISH I could cover all the projects but unfortunately I do not have enough time or space to do so. :(  Just because a project has not been covered by me does not mean it doesn’t deserved to be looked at!

See you all next time!

Cheers,
Root
