Hi all,

I bring you another Zine Month hype newsletter!  Unfortunately, my video will be little late and not linked in this issue.  I will send another e-mail with the video when it’s ready to go.  Real life has thrown couple curveballs and I have to burn my energy on those instead of Dice Stew.  I really wish I could focus on this full-time but I’m not there yet to be able to do so.  Adulting sucks right?

Enough with real life bullshit.

First week of Zine Month has been INSANE and we still have three more weeks to go! I just love all the support and passion being shared by everyone involved in this movement.  I’ll do quick spotlight on several projects that are amazing and need some extra support to achieve their funding goals.  Without much ado…. let’s go!

13HUNTERS is a zine compendium of 13 renowned bounty hunters from across the orbspace. Inside, you'll find system and setting-agnostic dossiers filled with all the attributes, art, vignettes, and tables you need to drop these terrifying creatures into your sci-fi or fantasy roleplaying game.

Sleep with one eye open. Or two. Better yet, just don't fall asleep for the rest of your life, because you're relentlessly pursued by...

Speaking of Tony…. here is one of his numerous projects!

Deep with the back of the Count Sandaer's Restaurant lurks an ancient power unleashed in new form... VAMP NUGGULA!

Now Become Vamp Nuggula!

You are a chicken nugget who is also a vampire. This is unfortunately… not unheard of. Your sire simply forgot that they no longer enjoy human food until they bit you.
Then they hissed and ran into the darkness. You certainly have feelings about this.

Vamp Nuggula is background for Troika by Melsonian Arts Council.

We are going to itchfund as many characters for "RestaurantLand" to be Vamp's friends.
For every $50 that people spend on Vamp Nuggula (and other future RestaurantLand Friends), we will  create 1 additional background inspired by (but legally distinct from ) the Corporate Mascots of yore. Need a burger bandit? Want a jolly bee? Need an green Irish uncle to talk about shakes? We can make it happen... in RestaurantLand for Troika.

Exarch is a setting about Dark Age peasants discovering sci-fi tunnels filled with dangers and treasures. It’s also about life at Home and the changes that sort of discovery brings. Decades ago, things were simple and rustic. Then a natural disaster, a crack in the glass dome, or some technological failing exposed the endless megastructure that surrounds the place you call Home.

The zine is system agnostic across OSR rpgs, though it lends itself better to classless games like Knave, Into the Odd, Cairn, or Warlock! Your party of peasants will go on deadly expeditions and (hopefully) return with cybernetics, strange futuristic artifacts, and new Utterances in the Steel Speech.

The (Un)Naturalist: Forest is now Itchfunding!

The (Un)Naturalist is a journaling rpg for one player. The player addresses prompts by formulating experiments to help rationalize the unusual attributes of their surroundings. As the expedition lengthens, the player catches glimpses of an unknown predator creeping in. The player must decide how far they will pursue their inquiry, perhaps so far as their own mortal peril.

The game is played in a notebook or text editor and uses a pen or a d4 as a randomizer. The game rules are available as a PDF but are formatted in A5 for at-home printing. The funding window will finance layout improvements and print proofs for a potential physical release. The (Un)Naturalist is written and created by DonnieDynamo.

Aw, look at that adorable alligator… wait a minute? It has tentacles or some kind of root-like limbs?!  Now I’m super curious…

Quests in King Arthur stories are about ideals, conflict and temptation.

Pilgrimage of the Sun Guard is a solo prompt-based journaling game by Amanda P. where you create a Sun Guard and travel alone on a quest, attempting to hold to your Code until you reach the end, facing trials and complications along the way.

You are the last Sun Guard. Will you take up the mantle and ride the ancient roads?

Whispers in the shadows. Eyes of suspicion cast askance. None dare risk being accused of warlockery — for the accused, some innocent, some not, all gave their last breaths hanging from the trees of Warning Grove.

All the villagers of Soulum know one truth — that such maleficence, the return of the warlocks, is the first sign of the prophecy: The Shadow Lord will rise again.

The Mirror of Malatesto is an epic low level OSR and 5e catacomb crawl (with an overland intro) for 4-7 players in a world of paranoia, prophecy and the looming, world-altering plot of a conspiracy of warlocks scheming to raise an ages-old slumbering evil.

Enter the catacomb at your risk...

The XD6 SRD is an TTRPG system by Michael Low made to power games about epic, cinematic stories of larger-than-life figures.  Giant mecha, kaiju, superheroes, gods & demons - this is for flashy, edge-of-your-seat action and immense, planet-shaking FX.

You can also use it to play tea parties.  It’s your thing - do what you wanna do.

The full system includes rules for creating characters for any game, quick play character sheets, abilities and drawbacks, and sample characters to show the range of awesome possible - from the Impossible Bulk, a massive, angry science mistake, to Lavender Baudelaire, an orphan whose inventions save her siblings.

Project image for Curic’s Cursed Chapbook, a third-party work for Mörk Borg

Curic’s Cursed Chapbook, a third-party work for Mörk Borg, will be a 36-page micro-hexcrawl by Philip Reed. Explore the twisted lands to the southeast of Galgenbeck.

Curic’s Cursed Chapbook presents the gamemaster with a selection of fixed and random encounters that may be placed in almost any campaign.

In the days of sunlight, before nightmares blackened the skies and the cursed people claimed the world, there was a traveler by the name of Lukas Curic who enjoyed sharing stories with those he met in the towns and villages of the world. Curic roamed the shores of the land, sailed the Endless Sea with pirates, and braved the little-used paths that connected Bergen Chrypt and Galgenbeck.
